When should I book a shoot?
It’s recommended to book your Birth Photography session at least 2-3 months before your expected due date. This allows us to discuss important details such as your chosen hospital, your doctor, whether you have a doula, and the type of birth you are planning. These factors are crucial in ensuring that our cooperation for capturing your baby’s first moments will be seamless and successful.
How is childbirth filming done?
During the birth process, I am with you every step of the way—from contractions to the moment your baby is born and during the first hours after birth. My approach to capturing Baby’s First Hours is discreet; I do not interfere with the birth process or the medical team. If you have the energy and desire, I can even take a few staged shots to enhance your newborn portrait session.
Will my hospital allow birth photography?
In Dubai, not all hospitals permit in-hospital newborn photoshoots. The ability to have a photographer present also depends on your doctor. Please contact me, and I will guide you through what needs to be arranged to ensure I can capture your baby’s first moments.
When should I call the photographer?
As soon as your regular contractions start and you are preparing to head to the maternity hospital, it’s time to call your doctor and immediately notify your birth photographer. This ensures I arrive early enough to document not only the birth process but also the last hours leading up to your baby’s arrival.
Will my birth photos be published online?
Your birth photos and videos will only be published online with your explicit permission. You can decide whether or not to share your baby’s first moments either at the time of booking or after receiving your photos and film. Regardless of your choice, the cost of the birth photography session remains the same.
What if the photographer is unavailable due to illness or another birth?
I schedule Birth Photography sessions with a buffer of several weeks between expected due dates to minimize conflicts. However, in the rare event that I am unable to attend your birth due to illness or attending another planned birth, I will provide a full refund of your deposit. While no birth photographer can guarantee 100% availability due to the unpredictability of birth, rest assured that I strive to be there for you. If circumstances prevent it, know that your baby’s birth is special and meant to be an intimate moment for you and your little one.
